Saturday
Eldest Sister did the visit today. Mum was asleep when they got here but did stir for a bit. Mum waved at her granddaughter and was aware of who was there. She looked a bit better but that could have been because her eye had cleared up.
A team arrived to change Mum’s cannula as she has been pulling on it and had dislodged it. It took them 30 minutes to get it in. I remembered that Mum had been picking at the plaster holding the cannula steady for a couple of days. I did mention it to Sister yesterday.
Not wanting to get lumbered with the task of feeding Mum, they left as they started to smell the food.
Author’s Note
My Mum is in a nursing home in a small village in the Thames Valley. The photo is not of the home. I used an AI image generator to give the reader some idea of the home she’s in.
All, some or maybe even none (you’ll never know!) of the names have been changed to protect privacy and hide real identities. If you think you recognise someone then let me know and I’ll edit the post or remove it entirely
