The Dog, sleeping

Sunday

Eldest Sister and her kids did the visit today. It’s always interesting to get a different perspective on things and their perspective differs from mine in that they see Mum every three weeks or so instead of nearly every day like I do so they’re more likely to see long-term changes.

By all accounts, Mum was the same as she was yesterday. She didn’t say much and what little she did say was unintelligible and she was drifting in and out of sleep. Mum does seem to be taking longer to come out of a Sleepy phase now. But the key difference they noticed was how much thinner and weaker she looked even compared to their last visit. They seemed shocked.

Aside from that the most notable event of the visit was being told off for borrowing extra chairs from the lounge. Before they got to tell me who it was who’d told them off I’d guessed it was Eleanor. The resident they described sounded like Eleanor. I’m pretty certain it was Eleanor.

Author’s Note

My Mum is in a nursing home in a small village in the Thames Valley. The photo is not of the home. I used an AI image generator to give the reader some idea of the home she’s in.

All, some or maybe even none (you’ll never know!) of the names have been changed to protect privacy and hide real identities. If you think you recognise someone then let me know and I’ll edit the post or remove it entirely
