Our Hound

Saturday

Mum was sufficiently sleepy for me to feel confident that she’d be completely unresponsive today and it certainly fitted in with her six-day Sleepy/Active cycle. I took the day off visiting Mum while Lesley had yet another long day with her dad.

The Dog is still on short walks while she recovers from her bug so I had plenty of time to decide how I was going to fail to do anything worthwhile with my day.

Instagram provided a great description of how I spent my day with this inspirational quote by artist Georgia O’Keefe…

“I have done nothing all summer but wait for myself to be myself again

That’s what I did. I tried to pack an entire summer into one day.

Author’s Note

My Mum is in a nursing home in a small village in the Thames Valley. The photo is not of the home. I used an AI image generator to give the reader some idea of the home she’s in.

All, some or maybe even none (you’ll never know!) of the names have been changed to protect privacy and hide real identities. If you think you recognise someone then let me know and I’ll edit the post or remove it entirely
