Nursing Home

Wednesday

Mum was aware that someone was with her this evening but I’m not sure she knew it was me. Very sleepy and completely unresponsive.

I did get the chance to ask Terri whether Mum had been yelling for me like she did when she first arrived there. She isn’t. They’re all just taking the mickey out of me when they greet me by calling out “NIIIIIIIIIIIIICK!!!”.

And that’s perfectly fine by me. Being the butt of one of the staff’s running jokes makes me feel like part of the team.

Author’s Note

My Mum is in a nursing home in a small village in the Thames Valley. The photo is not of the home. I used an AI image generator to give the reader some idea of the home she’s in.

All, some or maybe even none (you’ll never know!) of the names have been changed to protect privacy and hide real identities. If you think you recognise someone then let me know and I’ll edit the post or remove it entirely
